E.L.F Essential Eyeshadow Compact - Review & EOTD

I am a huge fan of E.L.F cosmetics as they are very affordable yet deliver good quality. Unfortunately they are not available in India. There are websites that ship out E.L.F products internationally but that turns out to be very expensive including the high shipping charges.

I somehow managed to place an order with E.L.F with the help of my friend and today I am going to review an Eyeshadow Compact from E.L.F.

What the Brand Claims:

The beautiful soft texture of the Eyeshadow Compact melts into your skin for vibrant color that lasts. Convenient and easy to apply, just layer the colors to achieve your desired look. Apply wet or dry for a fabulous look that never creases or fades. With 6 gorgeous colors to choose from, you can mix and match colors for any occasion or event. A built-in mirror and dual-end applicator are included for flawless application.

Directions to Use:

Blend your preferred color onto the eyelid with the included eyeshadow applicator, layer on colors for desired intensity and ideal definition. Apply dry for a more subtle look or wet for a more dramatic look.

Ingredient List:

Talc, Mica, Zinc Stearate, Kaolin, Paraffinium Liquidum (Mineral Oil) Petrolatum, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Metylparaben, Propylparaben MAY CONTAIN: Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Yellow No.5 Lake (CI 19140), Red No.40 Lake (CI 16035), Ultramarine Violet (CI 77077), Blue No.1 Lake (CI 42090)

Price: $3 for 6 shades

My Experience with E.L.F Essential Eyeshadow Compact :

The packing is very simple and boring. It comes in a plastic pakage with a transparent lid thats very hard to open and close. Its comes with a small mirror on the top corner of the lid and an eye applicator which is pretty useless.

The eye shadow Palette has 6 shades in it. All the shades have okay-ish pigmentation. You would need 2-3 swipes over a eye shadow primer for the color to show up at full intensity. The shades are bright and colorful and total love for me.

There are shades like Gold, Turquoise, Matte Purple, Shimmery Brown, Moss Green and a matte Blue. The  shades Blue and Purple are slightly powdery. My favorite of the lot is Gold, Turquoise, Shimmery Brown, & Moss Green.

The staying power is decent. You have to use a eye shadow primer to make them last long or else the colors might fade away after 4-5 hours of wear.

Rating: 3/5

Overall a decent palette, I would not complain for the price I paid. Not a must have though.

  5. Very neat winged eyeliner and your lashes look so long :) I liked your EOTD. The swatches don't look too pigmented like you said too. I had thought elf products are great. Thanks for the review.
